Arlington is contemplating renaming a stretch of South Middle Road to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in honor of the late civil rights icon.
Town is asking for neighborhood enter on the title change, which might have an effect on South Middle Road between Arbrook Boulevard and SE Inexperienced Oaks Boulevard. A small portion of Cravens Park Drive would even be affected.
The change wouldn’t influence the addresses of any metropolis residents, as close by properties do not need have an deal with on South Middle Road or Cravens Park Drive, in line with town. Just one undeveloped parcel on South Middle Road would require an deal with change, as a few of the roadway has not but been constructed.
Town can be proposing so as to add 10 road signal toppers honoring King alongside Middle Road from I-30 to Volunteer Drive, simply north of I-20. Town now has 5 signal stoppers that bear King’s title.
